Dr Jacob Taliat the founder of Maryknoll was the Palace Doctor, treating the Royalty. He was also the Surgeon General of Travancore Kingdom (The Administrative head of health department in the kingdom and later Kerala State) one of the very influential people in the Kingdom and Kerala State that time. He brought the design for Maryknoll from USA, which was modified to suit some of the local conditions then. After the house was built, it became a popular place for the high Society of those days to meet for leisure and for state level policy planning.

The house and property around it is now managed by Dr Taliat’s – Daughter in Law Mary George, grand son Jacob Taliat (planter cum businessman ) and spouse Sheefa. They are largely exposed to the hospitality business for many years.Jacob and Sheefa are widely travelled all over the world and is familiar with the wants of the foreign traveler as well. Maryknoll has now been refurbished to its mint condition, to give the residents a taste of what it was like in those days ..when life moved in an unhurried pace.

The management of the establishment is through full time professionals namely Sarathchandran- Manager, Agnes- Housekeeper cum Cook and Benny- The Grounds Man .

The marketing and additional inputs in the management of the operations will be supervised by Green Apple group who is committed to personally oversee the comfort of all guests at all times of stay at the property.

Our primary concern amidst this COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic is nothing other than the health and safety of our guests. We strictly follow all safety protocols ordained by the Local and State government authorities and the Health Department.

A well stocked library with a collection of magazines, novel etc are available All help at a call. Disposal accessories and equipment are used for hygiene and safety. Our staff will arrange different types of transport for the guests to move around the city and outside. Guests are free to use all amenities in the houshold. Anchunthengu Fort
The English East India Company built the Anchunthengu Fort in Trivandrum in the 17th century. The fort along with the adjoining cemetery is noteworthy for relics of this first major British trading station on the Malabar coast.

Aruvikkara
